Funeral Service for Mr. Robert Monroe Jones, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:30 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Donald DeLee, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to. 11:00 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Robert Monroe Jones, a steadfast and gentle soul, departed this life surrounded by the love of his family. Born into a world that would be greatly enriched by his presence, Robert left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. A man of deep faith and intelligence, he navigated life with a quiet strength that drew others to him.
Robert's early years were spent in the corridors of McAdory High School, where the foundation of his character was laid. He furthered his education at the University of Alabama, earning a BS in accounting and business administration. This knowledge paved the way for a distinguished career in accounting, culminating in a rewarding tenure as the administrator of Chapmans Healthcare Center, where he served for over 15 years before his well-deserved retirement.
Beyond the confines of his professional life, Robert's dedication to his faith was unwavering. He was a cherished missionary for AWANA, where his guidance helped shape young lives. His commitment to his church, Tri City Baptist in Millbrook, Alabama, was evident in his roles as a deacon, treasurer, and ultimately, an associate pastor. His gentle leadership and wise counsel were sources of comfort and inspiration to his congregation.
Robert's passion for life extended to his unwavering support for Alabama Crimson Tide sports and the Atlanta Braves. He relished the excitement of the game and the camaraderie it fostered. Above all, his most treasured moments were those spent with his grandsons, Justin, Zachary, and Lucas Blowers. His legacy of love and wisdom will undoubtedly live on through them.
He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly, including his daughters, Joy Jones of Springville, AL, and Katherine Jones of Alexander City, AL. Robert's life was further enriched by the joy of his three grandsons. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Rodney (Susan) Kilgore, and his nieces, Kelly (Johnny) Gibson, Karen (Nathan) Epperson, and Kaci (Bryan) Richardson, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins who were blessed to know him.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Elizabeth Jones, whose memory remained a guiding light throughout his life. Together, they shared a love that was a testament to their shared values and commitment to family. He was also preceded in death by his son, Danny Jones and his parents, Monroe and Etta B. Jones.
Robert Monroe Jones's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and devotion. Those who were fortunate to cross paths with him were touched by his faith-filled spirit and his gentle, intelligent approach to life's challenges. He was a beacon of light to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he loved.
