Mr Rickie Gerome Davis' Obituary
Rickie Gerome Davis, 75, went to rest and rejoice with his heavenly Father on December 18, 2024 and is fully healed. Rickie was born in Alexander City, Alabama on August 5th, 1949 to Louie Alton Davis and Myra Nell Kelley Davis. He was the best big brother to his two, adoring sisters Diane Davis Lemmond and Regina Davis Mann. Rickie loved Jesus, his family, his friends, and his country. His big smile and generous heart lit up every room he entered and all loved him. He never met a stranger and will be deeply missed. He spent a long career with the Alabama Department of Transportation from which he retired, making lifelong friends. An outpouring of kind calls and warm messages have uplifted the family during this difficult time. Rickie would not want us to be sad for his passing and loss but instead smile that he is in the Kingdom of Heaven with his Lord and Savior, alongside the loved ones who went before him.
Rickie is survived by his loving wife of nearly 13 years, Nancy Oiler Davis; his sisters Diane (Willie), Regina (John); his four sons for whom he was so proud: Christopher Wilson Davis (Shelli), Eric Samuel Davis, Craig Alton Davis (Jill), Cory Ryan Davis (Candice); and the nine grandchildren who were his world and whom he adored: Cara, Brian, Alahna, Sophia, Ellis-Eloise, Jazlyn, Alton, Eleanor and Bricen. His nieces and nephews he loved like they were his own children and was very close to each of them. Rickie’s greatest joy was gathering and spending time with family! He would want those traditions to continue infinitely.
A service will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2024 at Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City, Alabama. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. with the service at 2:00 p.m. There will be a meal directly following the service. The family will meet for the committal service at Hillview Memorial Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
Rickie is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Alton Davis.
