Mr. Richard Wayne Carlisle's Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Richard Wayne Carlisle, 83, of Alexander City, will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Todd Henderson and Dr. Albert Pike will officiate. Veteran's honors will be provided by the Alexander City Veteran's Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Carlisle passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center. He was born on February 27, 1931 in Alexander City, Alabama to Wayne McKinnley Carlisle and Ruby Steverson Carlisle. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Carlisle graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Vocational Agriculture. He worked as a real estate agent for Action Properties. Mr. Carlisle was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fellowshipping with friends as a member of the Burger King Coffee Club. Mr. Carlisle liked watching western movies, fishing, and was an Auburn football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ilene Oliver Carlisle of Alexander City; daughter, Lory Avsar of Birmingham; son, Dameon Carlisle (Julie), of Alexander City; grandchildren, Lara Avsar and Caly Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Carlisle.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 Green Street, Alexander City, AL, or the Children's Harbor One Our Children's Highway, Alexander City, AL 35010.
