Randy Willis' Obituary
Mr. Ashley Randal (Randy) Willis, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away at Grandview Medical Center on Aug. 22, from heart complications. He was born in Dadeville, Alabama, on May 27, 1946, and lived his entire life in Tallapoosa County.
Randy graduated from Dadeville High School and attended Auburn University where he received double bachelors' degrees and went on to earn a master's degree from Montevallo University. Spending his professional career in the educational system, he worked at the Alexander City Board of Education, later becoming principal at Laurel Elementary School (now Stephen's) until his retirement.
Passionate about enriching the lives of young students, Randy spent three years after retirement applying for and receiving state educational grant money for the Tallapoosa County School System.
An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Randy was president of the Dixie Hunting Club for decades and spent countless years fishing, bowhunting and practicing archery with his son, Jason.
Randy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glenda Willis, his son, Jason (Amy) Willis, and his sister, Raphelia Forbus. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray "Snooks" Willis and Pauline (Miss Polly) Willis Watson, of Dadeville, Alabama.
Funeral services will held at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024. Bro. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
