Funeral Service for Mr. Randall Burl Jones, 70, of Equality, Alabama, will be Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Alexander City. Dr. Steve King will officiate. Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery in Equality. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church Alexander City.
Randall Burl Jones, seventy (70) of Equality, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama with his family at his side. A resident of Equality, Alabama since 2003, Randall was born on August 2, 1955, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Joseph W. and Eleanor Frances Jones.
After serving six (6) years in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1982, and earning a degree in Civil Engineering, he spent the remainder of his career pursuing his passion as a computer software engineer.
Randy served as a volunteer firefighter with the Real Island Volunteer Fire Department from 2004 to 2025, and he recently retired to his homestead in Equality, where he cherished spending his days with his wife, his son’s family, and friends, and working on projects around his property. He loved music and going to outdoor concerts with friends, traveling with his family and being outdoors working on his sawmill and creating projects to do around his homestead.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. Jones Jr. and Eleanor Frances Jones. He is survived by his wife, Candace Jones; his son, Randall (Joey) Jones (Stephanie); grandsons, Tyler Joseph Jones and Jacob Eli Jones; his siblings, Reba Looney, Brenda Jones, Allen Jones (Kaye); aunts, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Real Island Volunteer Fire Department, 1495 Real Island Road, Equality, AL 36026.
