Mr. Bryan passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on January 23, 1952 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, he was the son of Audrey Askew Bryan and Geneva Clarice Hand Bryan. Ralph worked as a truck driver Southern Pipe for over 30 years until his retirement, and he was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Ralph was true southern man with his work ethic, hobbies, and heart. He loved to play guitar and do anything that involved the outdoors. The best places to find him would be out hunting or working in his garden.
Ralph would frequently venture into the woods to hunt deer and coyotes. When not there, he could be found tending to his garden that consisted of endless rows of vegetables. If you weren't a fan of peppers or tomatoes before meeting Ralph, then you certainly were afterwards because you were sure to be given a bag full of fresh tomatoes to take home regardless. After a long day of being constantly on the move outside, Ralph could be found watching his favorite Western shows with a big bowl of buttermilk and cornbread. This delicacy was one that has been successfully passed on to the next generations since
Ralph was the ultimate man that you wanted to mold yourself to be. Although he was soft spoken, he loved loudly. Ralph was a great friend to have because he always made sure that others were taken care of. This was especially true for his family that he loved more than anything. Ralph, lovingly known as "Papa," never missed an opportunity to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren out in the yard. His kindness and heart is one that will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
Ralph is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Regena Bryan; son, Brandon Ralph (Sonya) Bryan; daughter, Brandi Laine (Daniel) Cotney; step-daughters, Alecia (Bill) McLochlin, Michel (Heath) Bryan; step-son, Robert Nastoff; grandchildren, Brandon Ralph (Kassidi) Bryan, Jr., Brianna Cheyenne (Reed) Allen, Serenity Stager, Maddie McLochlin, Josie McLochlin, Callum McLochlin, Quinn McLochlin, Brinlee Bryan, Easton Bryan; great-grandchild, Blaise Welcher & more great-grandchildren on the way!; brothers, Jim (Nelda) Bryan; sisters, Janett Bailey, Geraldean C. Stevens, Bobbie Nell Davis, Mary Ruth Bryan, Brenda (Roger) Green, Martha Peters, Genice (Gwen) Griffin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
