Pete was a gifted cabinet and furniture maker, a talent he used to bring beauty and comfort into the homes of his loved ones and neighbors. His work, intricate and sturdy, was a reflection of his character - strong, reliable, and filled with depth and warmth. He was often hailed as the sweetest man on earth, a title he wore humbly and with a twinkle in his eye.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Peggie Sue Ott, who was his partner and best friend for many wonderful years. Their bond was one of true love and companionship, a testament to their shared values of family, faith, and kindness. Pete’s legacy also lives on in his grandchildren, Cody Ott (Kate), Holley Brown (Ryan), Laken McManus, and his great-grandchildren, Xander, River, Remy, Camilla, Rhett, and Rowan. Each one of them carries with them the lessons Pete taught them about love, resilience, and the importance of a good sense of humor.
Pete is also survived by his sister, Martha Lavelle Lindsey (Pete), who shared many childhood memories and life milestones with him. Their bond was one of mutual respect and deep familial love. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, William Dewey Ott and Martha Ida Ott, his sons, Chuckie and Kenny Ott, his brothers, William Dewey Ott, Frank Wayne Ott, and Fred G. Ott, and his sisters, Lee Rae Brown and Barbara Jean Clanton.
Throughout his life, Pete was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength for his family. He was the type of man who could turn a stranger into a friend with his warm smile and genuine interest in others. His selflessness was legendary, always putting the needs of others before his own. His faith was unwavering, providing a solid foundation for his life and serving as an inspiration for those around him.
Pete's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and selflessness. He was a man who truly understood the value of family and community, and his influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones. Pete Ott, a man of great character and even greater love, will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
