Ms Peggy Joyce Mcalister's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Peggy Joyce McAlister, 87, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. John Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Ms. McAlister passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at her residence. She was born on January 3, 1935, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to John Darcie Spates and Goldie Blanch McDaniel Spates. She was an active member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Peggy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who doted over her family and always made sure they were well cared for. Peggy enjoyed traveling with family and friends along the east coast, sitting on the balcony at the beach enjoying the ocean view, eating at Hazel’s in Gulf Shores for breakfast and shopping with her many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Beeker; grandchildren, Jennifer Beeker Powell Brian), Beth Jones, Megan Beeker Lewis (Justin); great-grandchildren, Caroline and Keeley Powell, Nathan and Laura Jones and Wesley and Sawyer Lewis; sister, Winifred Suarez and special friend, Kathy Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Pete McAlister, son, Michael Curtis McAlister; parents and brothers, Darris, Walter and Thomas Spates.
