Mrs. Peggy Carolyn Fincher, lovingly known as Peggy, was born on April 11, 1942, in Alexander City, Alabama, and she passed away on July 8, 2026, in the same beloved hometown that shaped so much of her life. She was born on April 11, 1942, in Alexander City, Alabama to Joseph Henry Fuller and Mary Lorene Berry Fuller. She lived 84 years with a spirit that was friendly, loving, and thoughtful, and she leaves behind a legacy that continues to speak with strength and lasting grace. Peggy was a Christian woman whose life reflected faith, devotion, and a deep appreciation for the people and moments that made life meaningful. She was a member of Faith Temple.
Peggy spent her years serving others with humility and dedication. She retired from Russell Corp. after years of faithful work, and she also enjoyed working at Walmart, where her warm personality and steady presence were appreciated by many. She understood the value of hard work, and she carried that same dependable spirit into every part of her life. Whether she was on the job or at home, Peggy made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Her life reminded others that greatness is often found in simple acts of kindness, consistency, and love.
Her faith was an important part of who she was. Peggy loved singing in the choir for many years at Faith Temple, where her voice and her heart joined together in worship. She found joy in Christian television, especially watching Sonlife Broadcasting TV with Jimmy Swaggart, and she often enjoyed internet surfing and weather watching. These were the rhythms of a life that appreciated both comfort and connection. Peggy lived with a steady faith that encouraged her family and showed that belief is not only spoken, but also lived through patience, hope, and perseverance.
Peggy also knew how to enjoy life and make memories that her family will always treasure. She loved going to country dances with her late boyfriend, Reginald Milam, and she cherished the companionship and joy those times brought her. She especially loved family gatherings on every holiday, where laughter, food, stories, and togetherness filled the room. She looked forward to watching the Fourth of July fireworks with her family at the annual City Celebration, and she loved going to the beach with her family as well. These moments were more than outings. They were expressions of a life that valued love, unity, and the blessing of shared time.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Kay Falkenberry and her husband Richard, Amy Sue Fincher and Caryn Denise Black and her husband Clifford Stroh. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Melissa Gail Holman, Tiffany Faith Falkenberry and her husband Steve Bowen, Kristen Nicole Christian and her husband Joshua, and Kimberly Nicole Wainwright and her fiancé, Jytarious. Her memory lives on through her great-great-grandchild, Mac Alexander Falkenberry, and her great-grandchildren, Liberty Marie Falkenberry and fiancé, Harley, Anthony Michael Cruz, Caden Lukas Bowen, Izabella McKenna Bowen, Aaron Guy Christian, Lillian Rayne Christian, Amelia Rose Christian, Kaelynn Maree Hallman, Kynzleigh Nicole Black, and Kashtyn Jermaine Daniels. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Jonell Fuller.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fincher, her parents, her son, Joey Dale Fincher, her great-grandchild, Shawn Edmund Anderson, and her special loved one, Reginald Milam. Though these losses were deeply felt, they are also part of the full story of a woman who loved deeply and was loved in return. Her life was a testimony that love does not end with separation, because it continues in memory, in family, and in the values passed from one generation to the next.
Peggy’s life stands as a reminder that a meaningful life is built through faith, family, and the everyday choices to be kind, present, and loving. Her family and all who knew her will remember her warmth, her devotion, and the way she made ordinary days feel special. Her journey on earth has ended, but her influence remains alive in the hearts of those she touched. Peggy Carolyn Fuller Fincher lived with purpose, loved with sincerity, and left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire.
