Patricia Ann Prater Windsor, affectionately known as Pat to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at her birthplace in Coosa County, Alabama. Born on March 11, 1940, Pat's life was a rich tapestry of love, service, and devotion to her faith and family.
Pat's early years in Coosa County laid the foundation for a life characterized by unwavering love and a deep-seated commitment to her community. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met with her infectious smile and generous spirit.
Her professional journey as a Customer Service Representative with ALFA spanned over 25 years, during which she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike. Pat's dedication to her work was paralleled only by her dedication to her family and her faith, which were the cornerstones of her existence.
A true matriarch, Pat was the loving mother of David Wayne (Buffy) Windsor. She was also a cherished grandmother to Blair Windsor, Josh (Jennifer) Windsor, Mat Windsor, Corey (Amber) Windsor, Payton (Kendale) Windsor-Gober, Will (Dixie) Windsor, and Katie Windsor. Her legacy continued to flourish with her great-grandchildren, Ralee and Ellie Grace Windsor, who brought immense joy to her later years.
Pat's siblings, Mary Ishmael Bolling, Diane (Bill) Hough, and William Robert (Barbara) Prater, along with her special nephew, Mike Eaves, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends, will dearly miss her guiding light and unwavering support. Her daughters-in-law, Angela Windsor, and Theresa Windsor, also survive her, carrying forward the love and lessons she imparted.
Her life's journey was shaped by the love she shared with her late husband, David Earl Windsor, and the cherished memories they created with their sons, Floyd Edward Windsor and Kenneth Albert Windsor. Pat was also preceded in death by her parents, William Clyde and Sadie Bell Prater, and her siblings, Carolyn Graham, Betty Gore, and Rueben Edward Prater.
Pat's passion for life was evident in her myriad interests and involvements. She was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman-strong, honorable, and compassionate. As the hub of her family, she built a legacy of love and faith, raising her sons to be fine gentlemen alongside her beloved husband. Her community knew her as a leader, encourager, and mentor-a pillar of strength and a fervent prayer warrior. Pat's desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus was realized through her countless acts of kindness and her commitment to being a mover and shaker in her community.
Her faith was her guiding force, and as a longtime and faithful member of Rockford Baptist Church, she served in many capacities, always leading with grace and humility. Her Sunday School class held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent in fellowship and spiritual growth.
Pat's life was a testament to her loving nature, faith-filled heart, and passionate soul. She was a woman who not only loved but loved well, always seeking out ways to uplift and serve others. To know Pat was to love her, and her impact on those around her will be felt for generations to come.
As we bid farewell to Patricia Ann Prater Windsor, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest-a life of love, faith, and passionate service. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her, and her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
