Mrs. Patricia Cotney's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Patricia Cotney, 79, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cotney passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at her residence. She was born on March 28, 1943 to James Troupe Milner and Inda Baker Milner Avery. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, well loved by the community. She opened her home through the years to anyone who needed a plate of hot food or a warm place to sleep. Patricia was a member of the VFW auxillary. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, James Wayne Sanders (Kathryn) of Hanford, CA, David Eugene Cotney, and Mitchel Lee Cotney (Michelle Hauck) both of Jacksons Gap; step-daughter, Deborah Bennett (Butch) of Clarmont, GA; step-sons, Edward Cotney (Laura) of Sacramento, CA and Steve D. Cotney (Cassandra) of Wadley; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Billie Sherman of Montgomery, TX and Jennifer Pasley of Alpharetta, GA; and brother, Sam Avery (Kim) of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Eugene Cotney; and daughter, Melissa Dawne Sanders White.
