His unwavering dedication to his country was mirrored in his spiritual life. For 40 years, he shepherded many congregations, pastoring in several states, and touching countless lives with his wisdom and compassion.
Beyond his service, Eddie was known for his love of music. His ability to sing and play the guitar brought joy to many and was a source of comfort and inspiration to those who had the pleasure of listening. His musical talents were a beacon of light, reflecting his warm and friendly nature.
Intelligent and courageous, Eddie was a man who faced life's challenges with a steadfast heart. His friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community, and his intelligence was evident in the thoughtful advice he shared with those around him. His courage, most notably displayed during his military service, was also present in the way he approached life's trials, always with a sense of hope and perseverance.
His beloved wife, Nancy R. Rape of Alexander City, AL, stood by his side as a loving partner through every chapter of their journey together. He was a guiding force for his children, Alecia S. Wood (David) and John C Rape (Tera), teaching them the values of loyalty, strength, and integrity.
His grandchildren, Aaron C Hayes, Breann N Hayes, Dalton Rape, and Justin Issac will cherish the memories of their grandfather, whose stories and lessons will continue to resonate with them. Also survived by Great-grandchildren, Aaron "Ace" Hayes, Rae'lynn J Wilkins, and Brayden W Wilkins.
