Mrs. Nellie Robinson Ransome's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Nellie Robinson Ransome, 93, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the LifePoint Church of God of Prophecy. Pastor Adam Wade, Rev. Wynn Knowles and Bishop Clint Knowles will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ransome passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Coosa County, Alabama to Joseph Chandler Robinson and Mamie Kate Cushing Robinson. She was a longtime member of LifePoint Church of God of Prophecy and was the oldest living member. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and baking. She was very generous and was always doing for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Mamie Lee Knowles of Jacksons Gap; son, Samuel Clyde Ransome (Connie) of Alexander City; grandchildren, G. Clint Knowles (Elizabeth), Samuel Jason Knowles (Amy), Meagan K. Ogletree and Joshua James Ransome (Sheri); great-grandchildren, Gabriel Wynn Knowles (Jen), Michael Ashton Knowles (Breanne), Elizabeth Brianne Gann (Hayden), Samuel Nathan Ransome, John Tyler Ransome, Kayden Elisabeth Knowles, Logan Samuel Knowles, Samuel Jayse Bailey and Christopher Jaxson Bailey; great great grandson, Aiden James Gann; sisters, Ora Dessa Mallory and Laurel Elsie Hendrix (Raymond); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Ransome; sisters, Annie Jean Yarbrough, Mamie Ruth Guy and Delilah Rachel Lee Smith; brothers, J.C. Robinson, James Wessie Robinson, Joseph Timmons Robinson, Thomas Willard Robinson, Jimmy Robinson and Julius Robinson; and son-in-law, Gary Clinton Knowles.
