Memorial Service for Mr. Charles Ewell Bradberry Jr., 72, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Mr. Randy Fannin will officiate.
Charles Ewell Bradberry, Jr., affectionately known as Charles and Junior, was born on December 30, 1950, in Tallassee, Alabama. His life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and friendliness. He passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023, in Alexander City, Alabama.
Raised in Tallassee, Charles was the beloved son of Charles Ewell Bradberry, Sr. and Ruby Mae Bradberry. His upbringing was enriched with the love and care of his parents and his brother, Ronnie Bradberry, who all preceded him in death. Charles' early life laid the foundation for the extraordinary man he would become, a man defined by his love for family, his service to his country, and his unwavering kindness.
Charles found his life's companion in his wife, Janice Bradberry of Alexander City, AL. Together, they built a loving family that included their children, Regena, and William (Jeanna). Charles' love extended to his grandchildren, Cely Bradberry and Bryant Thomas, who were the apples of his eye. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Charles was a dedicated over-the-road truck driver who enjoyed the open road and the opportunity to explore the country. His work was a testament to his hardworking nature and his commitment to providing for his family. Despite the demands of his job, Charles always made time for his loved ones and valued the precious moments he shared with them.
A patriot at heart, Charles served faithfully in the US Army and the US Navy. His bravery and dedication were recognized with a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged from service, but his love for his country never waned. Charles was proud of his service and often shared stories of his time in the military with his children and grandchildren.
In his leisure time, Charles found joy in crafting walking canes. His creations were not only functional but also works of art, reflecting his meticulous nature and his keen eye for detail. These canes were a symbol of his love for craftsmanship and his dedication to creating something useful and beautiful.
Charles' life was marked by his loving nature, his kindness, and his friendly demeanor. He was a beacon of positivity who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met. He was a man of great integrity who lived his life with grace and humility. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Janice; his children, Regena, William (Jeanna), and Tommy; and his grandchildren, Cely and Bryant. His family will remember him as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His loss will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
