Funeral Service for Mr. Alonza Gay Prickett, 89, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Jackie Prickett and Bro. Wayne Prickett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
A cherished pillar of his community and a beacon of love and wisdom, Mr. Prickett passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, in Alexander City. Born on November 18, 1934, in Tallapoosa County, Alonza's life was a testament to the enduring power of faith, family, and hard work.
Alonza's journey began as the beloved son of Alonza Clifford Prickett and Mary Sue Prickett. His early years in Tallapoosa County laid the foundation for a life filled with devotion to his loved ones and a commitment to his faith. He was a faithful attendee of Marshall Street Church of God.
A hardworking man, Alonza found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a heart for animals in need, a passion for westerns and old movies, and an unwavering love for his family. His presence was a comfort, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
He is survived by his wife, Adonis Virginia Prickett of Alexander City; daughter, Tammy Mixon (Bob) of Greenville, AL; son, David (Christy) Prickett of Alexander City; grandchildren, Evan Mixon, Ryleigh Mixon, and Chloe Prickett; sisters, Glenda Peters of Auburn and Kathy Watts (Ricky) of Auburn; and brothers, Jackie Prickett (Virginia) of Opelika and Wayne Prickett (Deborah) of Opelika.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty McCain; and brother, Gene Prickett.
