Mr. Millard Gary Robbins' Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Millard Gary Robbins, 94, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Goodwater Presbyterian Church. Rev. Pete McElrath will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 10:00am to 11:00 am at Goodwater Presbyterian Church. Honors will be provided by the Alexander City Honor Guard at the graveside.
Mr. Robbins passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on October 3, 1920 in Coosa County, Alabama to Charlie Smith Robbins and Georgia Leigh Graham Robbins. He was an active member of Goodwater Presbyterian Church. He loved all things outdoors, traveling, camping, and he planned wonderful trips. His favorite place to be was at the lake, spending time with family and friends. He was known as a man who could fix any and everything.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Martelle McCreight Robbins of Alexander City; daughters, Dorothy Diane Pegues (Clarence), of Duncanville, TX, Debra Martelle Blackmon (Gregory), of Alexander City, Donna Lou Fleming (Cleve), of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Melissa (Max) Westbrook, Amy (Jeff) Bryan, Gary (Kristy) Blackmon, Ben (Natalie) Blackmon, Molly (Ben) Davenport, Caitlin (Stewart) Tidwell, Patrick Fleming; great-grandchildren, Hannah Westbrook, Graham Westbrook, Nathan Westbrook, Reese Bryan, Mallie Bryan, Hayes Bryan, Charlie Blackmon, Sydney Blackmon and David Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
