Mr. Melvin Nix's Obituary
Melvin Nix, 96, resident of Pensacola, Florida and formerly of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on October 4, 2021 and went to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Ocie Mae Nix; and his 3 siblings, Evelyn Nix Thomas, Bob Nix, and Dorman Nix. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Evelyn B. Nix; his daughter, Maera Nix Bradberry (David); 2 grandsons, Matthew Carr (Kaitlin) and Benjamin Carr (Lauren); 1 great-granddaughter, Bennett Mila Carr; and many nieces and nephews.
Melvin was a loyal and loving husband and the “best daddy a daughter could have.” He loved hunting, fishing, Auburn football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and spending time with family, especially his grandsons and great-granddaughter. Melvin loved his church and helping Habitat for Humanity. He was a World War II Army veteran, Life Member of the Masons, and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Melvin also participated in the Alcazar Temple Shriners in Montgomery, Alabama for many years, where he was in the Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, followed by a service in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Rev. Donnie Pritchard officiating. Interment will occur at Hillview Memorial Park following the service with military honors.
