Mrs. Maxine Aldridge Grimes' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Maxine Aldridge Grimes, 88, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Grimes passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at her residence. She was born on November 10, 1934, in Chilton County, Alabama to Evan Eugene Aldridge and Flossie Jane Lockhart Aldridge. Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a servant’s heart and loved caring for the many children that passed through her daycare, which she owned for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and reading in front of the fire with a piping hot cup of coffee.
She is survived by her son, Charles Ray Grimes Jr. and Misty Ray; grandson, Tyler Ray Grimes and great-grandson, Parker Grimes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles Ray Grimes, Sr., and her parents.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Good News Baptist Church, 10493 Highway 280, Jackson’s Gap, AL, 36861.
