Mr. Maurice Ray Sularin's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Maurice Ray Sularin, 82, of Alexander City and formerly of Fayette, will be Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:45 pm at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy. Bro. Dwight Geist will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Sularin passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Russell Medical. He was born on July 17, 1935 in Fayette County, Alabama to Preslay Freeman Sularin and Sally Mabel McGlaughan Sularin. Mr. Sularin enjoyed reading western books and was a speed reader. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching wrestling. He also enjoyed fishing and tinkering with old cars. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucretia Dawson; sons, Eric Sularin and Jerome Sularin; grandchildren, Whitley Dawson, Kirk Sularin, Taylor Sularin Smith and Taryn Dawson; sister, Sara Tucker; and former spouse, Myra LaNell Sularin of Fayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Sularin and Bill Sularin; sisters, Jean Sularin Geist, Betty Lou Garrison, Ruby Verlon Plyler, Mona Faye Sularin, Annie Francis Potts and Martha Faye Sularin.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be given to Radney Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
