Aunt Mary Lou was warm, loving, and you never felt lonely around her. She had a bright smile, she was clever and funny, and she said what was on her mind. I was always happy to be around her. Her house felt like a home to me. I loved hearing her superstitious stories, her cool knickknacks, and watching scary movies with her. I remember when a big hurricane came through one year and we had to sleep over at their house, she stayed up playing games with Tyler and me, showing us pictures on her computer and we ate a whole bag of sun ships together haha (she got me addicted to those for a while lol). She probably didn’t know it but that is a very happy memory for me. I miss running down the driveway to her house from grandmas, and her telling us to watch out for the hole in the porch, or we’d fall in and get stuck haha. there’s so many little things like that I miss.
I feel like she was a perfect match for uncle Ronnie, and an amazing mother to Candace (and her fur babies). She was a woman who didn’t care about others opinions and said what she felt, and I admired that about her. She was a one of kind person, and I feel so happy that I got to know and be close to someone like her. I’m very blessed that I got to have such a kind, genuine person as my Aunt. I’m so grateful that she was apart of this family, and she is very missed and loved by all of us.
