Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary Diane Smelley, 72, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Chase Clower will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smelley passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in San Antonio, TX. She was born on May 23, 1950, in Sylacauga, AL to William Sims and Mary Moore Sims. She was a member of Hillabee Baptist Church. Mary volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Russell Hospital for many years. She also enjoyed traveling. She always loved going to the beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Ricondo (Joe) of San Antonio, TX; son, Chris Smelley (Tiffany) of Northport; grandchildren, Joey Ricondo and Arianna Ricondo; and brother, David Sims (Pamela) of Fayettville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Ray Smelley; brothers, Dwayne Sims, and Ricky Sims.
