Memorial Service for Mrs. Mary Patricia “Pat” Short, 76, of Alexander City, will be Monday, September 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Short, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 3, 2023, in Birmingham, AL. Born on May 5, 1947, she was a faith-filled, creative, and thoughtful woman who lived her life with grace and generosity.
Pat was the beloved wife of Bill Short of Alexander City, AL, and a loving mother to her daughter, Alice Short, also of Alexander City, AL. Her joy was magnified by her grandson, Matthew Short, who brought immense happiness into her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Archibald Hardegree and Mary Alice Hardegree, as well as her brothers, Winston Theo Hardegree and David Dwayne Hardegree. Their memories remained a significant part of her life.
Mrs. Short was a successful entrepreneur, owning the Country Corner Ceramics shop with her husband for many years. Her creativity shone through her business and personal life. Additionally, she worked diligently as a Medical Transcriptionist, demonstrating her dedication to helping others.
Mrs. Short was renowned for her spectacular Christmas decorations, a testament to her creative spirit. Her love for her family and friends was evident in the warmth and joy that filled her home during the holiday season.
