Mrs. Mary Ruth Hooks' Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Mary Ruth Hooks, 83, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Graveside at Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate.
Mrs. Hooks passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born on May 2, 1939, in Alexander City, Alabama to William Ernest Messer and Irene Hendrix Messer. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, card games, working word puzzles and going fishing.
She is survived by her son, Jason Robert Hooks (Mary Catherine); daughters, Mary Katharine Strickland (Jeffrey), Debra Robinson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and sister, Ernestine Burkhalter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Robert Hooks, Son, Charles W. Hooks; parents; sisters, Alice Talley, Ruby Messer, Nelda Daviston.
