Mr. Marvin Parker Osborne's Obituary
Mr. Marvin Parker Osborne, 85, of Alexander City, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 16, 1938 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Thomas Osborne and Helen Goetz Osborne. Marvin was an active member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
His family calls him a "jack of all trades" due to the assortment of talents, jobs, and hobbies that he was involved with in his lifetime. Marvin was known for his skill as a photographer and writer. He once owned a store called "Ozzy's Photo" in Alexander City, and his work as a journalist was noted during his time spent writing for the St. Petersburg Times. Marvin was also an avid reader, a professional tinkerer, and even had some experience as a farmer. His family describes him as a "talker" who could have conversations about anything and everything, and it was always a game of keeping up with which topic he was onto next. Marvin loved his wife, Dorothy, his children, and his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as "Pop Pop." He will be missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Osborne; sons, Marcus (Sabrina) Osborne, Joshua (Kristen) Osborne; daughters, Rosemarie (Kevin) Grevera, Rachel (Karl) Osborne, Alicia (David) Morneault; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grevera, Jessica Ford, Jennifer Ford, Jordan Osborne, Madison Osborne, Lillian Morneault, Samuel Morneault, Thomas Osborne; brothers, Gerry Osborne, Charlie Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen Osborne; brother, Robert Osborne; sisters, Jonelle Osborne, Rebecca Osborne, Linda Osborne, and Wanda Osborne.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
