Mrs. Martha Virginia Boddie's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Martha Virginia Boddie, 96, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, August 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boddie passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Brown Nursing Home. She was born on February 22, 1926 in Wetumpka, Alabama to Ellis Grady Pike and Elva Lena Daniel Pike. She was an active member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church and participated in the Women’s Missionary Union. She enjoyed flower gardening and being outside, sewing and crafts. After her children were raised, she worked for Roses Department Store.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Northington of Fairhope and Jenny Dyess (David) of Pensacola; sons, Larry Boddie (Diana) and Barry Boddie both of Alexander City; grandchildren, Phillip Bryan Northington, Jeffery Jay Northington (Kim), Kristen Dyess Houwing (Alex), Lisa Dyess Young (Daniel), Kalan Boddie Joiner (Rusty); and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, T.J. Boddie; siblings, Melvin Pike, Thurston Pike, Thurval Pike, Johnny Pike, Katie Pike McGhee, and Julia Pike Smith.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Comer Memorial Baptist Church 341 East Church Street, Alexander City, AL 35010.
