Margaret Peppers Kellum's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Margaret Peppers Kellum, 67, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Monday, June 10, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the West End Church. She will lie in state at the church from 2:00 pm until service time. Rev. Donald DeLee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Margaret Kellum, a beacon of love and the epitome of selflessness, passed away surrounded by the family she cherished above all else. As the rock of her family, Margaret's unwavering support and boundless kindness will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born into the loving arms of William Lee Peppers and Mary Nell Peppers, Margaret's journey through life was marked by an innate ability to cultivate joy and friendship at every turn. Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those around her, and her capacity to love knew no bounds. Margaret was the embodiment of friendliness, touching the lives of many with her warmth and openness.
Margaret's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Jerry Kellum of Jacksons Gap, AL, who stood by her side as her partner and confidant through life's many chapters. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Daphne Watkins (Guy) Harlow, Barbara Ann Bonner, Crystal (Tamario) Dumas, and Nonnie (Jeff) Ware, each of whom embody aspects of her generous spirit and loving heart. Margaret was a mother not only to her children but to many, always ready to extend her care and affection to those in need.
Her grandchildren, Shelby Smith, Robbie Adair, C.J. Kellum, Brandon Smith, Jason Smith, Kayla Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, and Ryan Bonner, were the apples of her eye. They, along with her great-grandchildren, Bella Smith, Elena Smith, Christian Berry, Felicity Pressley, Oaklynn Lamberth, Emmett Bishop, Rosalie Bishop, Isabella Bishop, Kolton Smith, John T. Smith, Logan Barnett, Chaya Smith, Emily Stewart, Amaya Smith, Jackson Adair, and Isaiah Adair, will hold dear the countless memories and lessons imparted by their beloved matriarch.
Margaret also leaves behind her siblings, Diane (Lamont) Hamilton and Gary Peppers, who shared in the joys and sorrows of life with her, and who will continue to honor her memory in their thoughts and actions.
Margaret was reunited in eternal rest with her beloved father, William Lee Peppers; mother, Mary Nell Peppers; daughter, Wendy Diane Peppers Smith; son, John Thomas "J.T." Sims; sister, Teresa Ashworth; brothers, Billy Peppers and Steven Peppers; and great-grandchild, Andrew C. Smith. Their memories remain a testament to the profound connections and love shared within the family.
Throughout her life, Margaret never met a stranger, embracing each new acquaintance with an open heart and an infectious smile. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all, and her absence will be felt deeply by the many lives she touched.
Margaret's life was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, laughter, and unwavering support. As the family and friends she leaves behind reflect on her life, they are reminded of the love she gave freely and the strength she embodied.
