Mr. Garrett passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at his home. He was born on February 14, 1962 in Lafayette, Alabama to Herald Evan Garrett and Ruth Smith Garrett. Manley discovered his gift for carpentry at a young age and dedicated his professional life to the trade, crafting sturdy and beautiful homes that stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. His work was not only a means of livelihood but was his way of serving the families within his community, providing them with spaces where memories could be made and lives could be lived comfortably. He was a quiet pillar in his field, earning the respect of colleagues and love of clients, not solely for his reliable handiwork but also for his integrity and compassion.
Beyond his work, Manley found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a particular passion for hunting and fishing for catfish. The quiet solitude of nature was a source of great peace for him, offering moments of reflection and connection to God's creation. On weekends, one could find Manley by a stream or in the woods, fully immersed in the tranquility of the outdoors.
Racing, too, was a thrilling pastime for Manley. The roar of engines and the sense of speed resonated with his adventurous spirit. It was in these exhilarating moments that Manley felt a vibrant sense of being, sharing his enthusiasm with fellow racing fans who swiftly became friends.
Perhaps most endearing was his love for animals, which was evident in how he tenderly cared for his dogs and chickens. For Manley, these creatures were not just pets but part of his family, and he poured his heart into ensuring they had happy and healthy lives.
As we bid farewell to Mr. Manley Pool Garrett, we celebrate a life lived with honor, warmth, and steadfast faith. May he rest in the eternal peace of Christ, leaving behind memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who loved him.
He is survived by his siblings, Becky Vinson, Shirley Blair, Fred (Jenny) Garrett, Talmadge (Vicki) Garrett, Elizabeth Culver, Melvin (Virginia) Garrett, and Richard Garrett; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Carl Garrett and Craig Garrett.
