Mable Childers Baker Jarvis' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Mable Childers Baker Jarvis, 87, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Ben Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jarvis passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1937, in Alexander City, Alabama to George Childers and Jewel O. Tate Childers. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Dadeville. Mable proudly graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1955. She was a 34-year employee of Aliant Bank, formerly known as First National Bank, where she was a bank teller. She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves as well as The Alabama Crimson Tide. Her family was the light of her life and she cherished the time she spent with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Baker (John Paul) Wilcox; son, Jake Dwight (Brenda) Jarvis Jr.; granddaughters, Sarah W. (Jeff) Hines, Ricki J. (Derek) Oliver; grandson-in-law, Wade Goggin; great-grandsons, J.J. Mayfield-Hines, Hayden Oliver; great-granddaughter, Isabel Oliver; brother, Jimmy Childers, and sister-in-law, Mary Baker.
She was preceded in death by her; parents; first husband, George Curtis Baker; husband, Jake Dwight Jarvis Sr.; granddaughter, Heather J. Goggin; sisters, Sarah C. Hendrix, Betty Jane Childers; brothers, George L., and Charley F. Childers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Dadeville, P O Box 308, Dadeville, AL, 36853 for Vision 2026.
