Lorinda Ann Holley McCoy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Born in Alexander City on Sunday, July 29, 1962, she was the daughter of Billy Holley and Dorothy Tapley Webb. Throughout life, she became a very strong, determined, and often stubborn woman who would do anything she could for her family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Lorinda was the embodiment of a true Southern matriarch with an extra side of sass. She could whip up a Thanksgiving dinner that would make the Pilgrims proud; create desserts that had the school bake sale competition eating her dust, and cooking spaghetti so good that you'd choose her table over Italy any day. That's not even mentioning the homemade cornbread, butter beans, or other southern cuisines that she was especially skilled at making. Lorinda was as sassy as her recipes were savory. That feisty stubbornness was entertaining amongst her family because she could argue with a brick wall and win, all while making the wall feel good about itself. It was no secret that she was a spitfire who lived life on her own terms.
Lorinda enjoyed being at home surrounded by the little joys in life. The birds in Kellyton never went hungry, thanks to her attentiveness and five-star bird feeders that were scattered all around the house. She could often be found outdoors fishing or tending to the flowers in her garden. Above all else, nothing brought her more joy than loving and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Rin Rin." Lorinda's spirit, much like her favorite tulips, will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew her. Stories of her will always be told with deep laughter, a shake of the head, and maybe an eye roll or two.
Lorinda is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (David BeAir) Parrott; sons, Chris (Brittany) Adams, Zachary McCoy; grandchildren, Britney Blackburn, Candice (Dawson) Self, Ali Adams, Rhainy Adams, Joshua McCoy; great-grandchildren, John Emfinger, Serenity Blackburn, Finley Self; sisters, Alanda (Dewayne) Sasser, Desiree (Cornell) Boleware; brothers, Stanley Holley, David Holley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband (long time love), Lawrence McCoy; mother, Dorothy Webb; and father, Billy Holley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation at Radney Funeral Home to help towards funeral expenses.
