Mr. Lonnie Ray Mace's Obituary
Visitation for Mr. Lonnie Ray Mace, 51, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Mace passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1975 in Alexander City, Alabama to Donald Mace and Peggy Davis Mace. Lonnie was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor and dedication. His time in the military reflected the same sense of duty and responsibility that guided him throughout his life. He carried the values of discipline, integrity, and perseverance with him long after his service ended, and those qualities were evident in the way he lived each day.
Following his military service, Lonnie built a strong and respected career as a carpenter. He worked for several years in the trade, using his hands and his skill to create, repair, and improve the spaces around him. He took pride in his work and was known for doing each job with care and attention to detail. His craftsmanship stood as a reflection of his character, steady, dependable, and sincere. Later, he also owned and operated his own construction business, a venture that demonstrated both his determination and his ability to turn hard work into lasting success.
Lonnie was an old soul with a kind heart. He had a gentle spirit and a generous nature, and he was always willing to help anyone in need. Whether offering his time, his labor, or a word of encouragement, he gave freely of himself without expecting anything in return. His presence brought comfort to those around him, and his quiet strength left a lasting impression on family, friends, and acquaintances alike.
He will be remembered for the many ways he contributed to the lives of others, both through his work and through the example he set. Lonnie lived with humility and purpose, and he approached life with a sincerity that earned the respect and affection of those who knew him. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Lonnie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for his service, his work ethic, his kindness, and the steady goodness he brought into the world.
He is survived by his uncle, James Bruce Davis of Alexander City; aunt, Linda Thompson of Alexander City; brothers, J.C. Winslett, Jr. and Jerry Lashley both of Jacksons Gap; nephews, Brandon Winslett, Eric Winslett, Chad Winslett, Curtis Winslett, James Lashley, and Matthew Hand; niece, Katie Speaks; and cousin, Tammy Newman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
