Mrs. Lonnie "Maurine" Colley's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Lonnie "Maurine" Colley, 85, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Carter, will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lonnie Maurine Colley, affectionately known as Maurine by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 21, 1939, Maurine lived a life characterized by love, courage, and passion, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Maurine's legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family and community. She is survived by a loving and extensive family that includes her sons, David (Crystal) Colley, Roy Lee (Linda) Colley, and Gregory Odell (Dana) Colley, all of New Site, AL, and her daughter, Wanda (Jimmy) Morgan of Hackneyville. She is survived by one sister. Maurine was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. Her life was a testament to the strength and resilience of family bonds.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, John Aldine Colley, her father, Henry Odell Davis, her mother, Lonnie Patterson Davis, her brothers, Bobby Joe Davis, Calvin Davis, and Harlan Davis, her sister, Ruby Glenn, and her great-grandchild, Olivia Faith Morgan. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and they guided her journey with their enduring love and wisdom.
Maurine's life was marked by her loving nature. She had an innate ability to make each person feel cherished and important. Her courage was evident in the way she faced life's challenges, never wavering in her commitment to her family and her values.
As we remember Maurine, we reflect on a life well-lived and full of purpose. Her smile, her warmth, and her unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Maurine's influence will undoubtedly live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and through the love she fostered in her family.
Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable woman that Maurine was. Her story is one of joy, resilience, and the power of love. It is with this spirit that we bid farewell to a truly exceptional soul.
