Mr. Allen passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1945 in Tallapoosa County to James Floyd Allen and Pauline Jones Allen. He was a member of Perryville Baptist Church. He retired from the Alexander City Housing Authority after 38 years of service. Lloyd was a hard worker. He loved cutting grass, farming, working with his cows, fishing, and hunting. He was known as "Uncle Lloyd" by everyone who knew him and always had a nickname for everyone. He loved all of his children, though they may not have been his biologically. He would do anything for anyone in need. Lloyd never met a stranger, always willing to tell a story to whoever he could.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Allen of Alexander City; sisters, Evelyn Melton (Lamar) and Helen "Bug" Bramblett (Tommy) both of Alexander City; nephews, James Allen and Scotty Bramblett (Brigette); nieces, Jennifer Melton and Gina Meyers (Steve); many great-nieces and great-nephews; and best friends, Ken and Linda Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marshall Allen; and nephew, Steve Melton.
