A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Lisa Michelle Commander, 39, of Wetumpka, Alabama, will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Church in the Pines. Rev. Mike Densmore will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Church in the Pines.
Lisa Michelle Commander, known affectionately to all as Lisa, graced the world with her presence on September 22, 1984, in Dallas, Texas. A beacon of joy and compassion, Lisa's journey on earth came to a peaceful end on March 23, 2024, in Wetumpka, Alabama. Her life was a testament to love, family, and unwavering faith.
She is survived by her children, Riley Peffer, Dalton Peffer, and Harper Brown; parents, Dave and Lynn Commander; grandparents, Jim and Peggy Pierce; niece, Brooklynn Berry; nephew, Chase Commander; aunts and uncles, Steve Commander (Lee), Amy Foley (Bill), Larry Pierce (Danna), Anne Affleck (Karl), Carla Thompson (Andy), and Andy Slaten (Cheree'); and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Bethany Commander Berry; grandfather, Irvin Commander (Anita); and grandmothers, Johnnie Rahm (Bob) and Joyce Pierce.
Lisa's early years were spent in the corridors of Benjamin Russell High School, where she graduated with the class of 2003. Her pursuit of excellence led her to the University of Alabama, where she earned a degree in Marketing, a field that would benefit greatly from her charisma and creativity.
Professionally, Lisa found her calling at Russell Marine, where she dedicated herself not only as an employee but as a champion of the company. Her passion for her work was evident to all who knew her, promoting the organization with an energy and enthusiasm that was truly infectious.
Beyond her professional life, Lisa's heart belonged to her children. She was the epitome of a loving, caring, and nurturing mother, whose life revolved around her family. Lisa was often referred to as "Momma Lisa" by her children's friends, a moniker that spoke volumes of her inclusive and welcoming nature. Her love knew no bounds, and she supported her children in all their endeavors, traveling with them and cheering them on every step of the way.
Lisa's zest for life extended to her hobbies and interests. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, relishing her time on the water and basking in the serenity of Lake Martin. Her laughter was a familiar sound during game nights, and her presence was a comfort during movie evenings with loved ones. Lisa's ability to connect with people was unparalleled, and her infectious smile remained unyielding, even through life's challenges.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Lisa loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her faith with conviction and grace. She was a testament to the strength that comes from spiritual devotion, and she inspired many with her resilience and unwavering spirit.
Lisa's legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith. She leaves behind a world brighter for her presence and a family fortified by her love. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to guide and inspire those who were blessed to know her.
Lisa Michelle Commander's life was a beautiful portrait of love in action, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her radiant soul. Her journey on earth has concluded, but her story-written in the lives she touched-will endure forever.
