Funeral Service for Mrs. Linda H. Starnes, 73, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, January 6, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Steve King will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Linda H. Starnes, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in the comfort of her own home. Linda's interesting and spirited personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her loving nature was evident in the close relationships she maintained throughout her life.
Born into the caring family of Melvin and Jeanette M. Hornsby, Linda was a beacon of joy and kindness in her community. She attended Benjamin Russell High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Linda's professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work, as she spent many years contributing her talents to Russell Corporation and Amtech until her well-deserved retirement.
Linda's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She relished spending quality time with her family, attending concerts, and embarking on memorable trips with friends. In her later years, her nephew, his wife, and great-niece held a particularly special place in her heart, reflecting her generous nature and the deep bonds she formed with her loved ones.
Linda's memory will be treasured by her surviving family members, who will miss her dearly. She leaves behind her sisters Ann Hornsby (Gerald) Jones, Mae (Sammy), Laro, Shirley Smith, and Evie (Don) West. Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her family members Candy and Bobby Smith of Alexander City, AL; great-niece Hannah Paige Smith; nephew and wife Billy and Angie Abrams; nephew and wife Charles and Angelica Foxx; niece and husband Dawn and Tim Harris; nephew and wife Barry and Rachel Jones; nephew and wife Chris and Amanda Jones; niece and husband Donna and Jimmy Watson; Niece Audrea Smith; niece and husband Jessica and Tracy Cook; Niece Donya Thomas; and numerous other nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her legacy.
Before her passing, Linda was reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Hensley Dewitt Starnes, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, Melvin, and Jeanette M. Hornsby; her sister Faye Abrams; brothers-in-law Jimmy Abrams and Robbie Smith; and nephew-in-law Michael Smith. Their memories remain a guiding light to all who knew them.
Linda's impact on the world was profound and her absence will be felt deeply. Yet, her spirit will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she spread so freely. Her life was a testament to the beauty of forming meaningful connections and living with an open heart.
