Mrs. Linda passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at University of Alabama Hospital. She was born on January 11, 1947 in Alexander City, Alabama to John Rufus Eason and Lennie Lura Milam Eason.
Mrs. Linda Sue Eason Jones, affectionately known as Linda Sue, lived a life marked by love, adventure, and devotion. Her presence and personality would touch countless hearts until she gracefully passed away. Linda’s sassy spirit and unmatched energy were a source of joy and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda was a proud graduate of BRHS, where she maintained those relationships and continued to be very involved in her community. Her career at Russell Corp. was a testament to her dedication and leadership, as she went on to become a manager. Her professional journey was characterized not only by her exceptional work ethic but also by the countless lives she touched along the way.
Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s world. Anyone fortunate enough to know her knew just how proud of them she was. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with her beloved husband, Donald Jones, and her devoted daughter, Kimberly Kay (Ray) Neeley. Her grandchildren, Kyle Ray (Alli) Neeley, Ansley Neeley, and Raylie Neeley, along with great-grandchildren, Noah Stone Neeley and Stella Gray Neeley, will carry fond memories of her adventurous spirit and boundless affection. Her brother-in-law, Paul Jones, also survives her, sharing in the family's cherished recollections. Linda was preceded in death by her adoring parents, John Rufus Eason and Lennie Lura Eason, whose love and values she embodied throughout her life.
Linda's love for life was evident in her hobbies and interests. She loved Lake Martin, where she spent countless hours riding on the boat listening to music and swinging on the porch looking out at the water. Traveling was another passion of hers, and she was able to see so much of the world. Karaoke nights were always a party with Linda, whose voice and presence could light up any room.
Linda enjoyed the blessing of many days waking up getting her hair and nails done, drinking coffee on the porch, affectionately bossing Donald around, letting all her friends and family know what she really thought - but never without offering support or help - and always rounding out her day unwinding and relaxing in her favorite nighttime gown.
Describing Linda as adventurous, loving, and selfless barely scratches the surface of her incredible character. She was vibrant, playful, open and honest and took advantage of every opportunity life offered. Linda's life was full of joy, laughter, generosity, and meaningful connections - none more than those with her family.
As a constant comforter to us all, Linda's legacy encourages us to live fully, love deeply, and never take ourselves too seriously. Her life was a beautiful collection of moments and memories that remind us to cherish our loved ones, go after our passions, and always extend a helping hand to those in need. Linda Sue Eason Jones may have set sail on her final boat ride, but the waves of her influence will continue to ripple through the lives she touched for generations to come. Let us honor her memory by living with the same courage, compassion, and vivacity that she exemplified every day.
