Funeral Service for Mrs. Lena T. Partridge, 86, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Tim R. Wilson, Rev. Donald DeLee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stewartville Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Lena T. Partridge, a beacon of unwavering faith and love, passed away peacefully at her home on October 30, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on December 15, 1937, Lena's life was a testament to the power of kindness, selflessness, and devotion to family and faith.
Lena, known for her gentle spirit and loving heart, dedicated her life to her family and her unwavering faith. She is survived by her adoring family, including her daughter, Donna P. (Greg) Jackson, and her son, James Larry Partridge, both of Alexander City, Alabama. Lena's legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Daniel (Marsha) Trapp, Rebecca Whitehead, Denver Whitehead, David Whitehead, Jamie Whitehead, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Jackson, Joel Jackson, Joshua Jackson, and Julie Jackson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jayde Trapp, Dawson Trapp, Noah Jackson, Annaliese Jackson, and Maryn Jackson. She will also be lovingly remembered by her special daughter, Dawn (Mike) Osbourn, her sister, Angela Westry, her sister Bessie (Roscoe) Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, James Brooks Partridge, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and devotion. She was also predeceased by her parents, Robert and Rosie Thrower; her siblings, Fannie Hand, Hazel Blake, Mae Saltsman, Robert Thrower, John Thrower, Emma Gene Towns, Hoover Thrower, and Welborn Thrower. Each of these individuals played a significant role in Lena's journey and their influences upon her life will forever be treasured.
Lena's career at Russell Corp. was marked by hard work and dedication, traits that she carried into her retirement. She was deeply involved in her community, always finding ways to contribute and uplift those around her. Lena's interests were a reflection of her inner joy and her love for the simple pleasures of life. She was often found listening to or singing gospel music, a hobby that brought her immense peace and happiness. Her garden was a place of tranquility and beauty, much like Lena herself. Fishing was another pastime that allowed her to bask in the serenity of nature.
Helping others was not just an interest but a calling for Lena. She gave of herself selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her love for reading provided her with wisdom and insight, which she generously shared with all who knew her. Lena's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her service to the Lord was evident in her actions and her commitment to her church, where she was a source of inspiration and guidance to many.
