Funeral Service for Mrs. Leita Roberts, 88, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Chase Clower will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts, born on June 21, 1937, in Chambers County, AL to James Rufus Kent and Virginia Carmichael Kent, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the cherished memories of a life well-lived. Leita, as she was fondly called, was a radiant presence in her community, a pillar of strength and warmth for her family and friends, and an individual whose kindness touched the hearts of many.
A devoted member of the Hillabee Baptist Church, Leita's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her devotion was reflected in her actions and the grace with which she lived every day. Leita found tranquility and joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as tending to her garden. Her hands, skillful and gentle, nurtured each plant with love, and her garden was a vivid reflection of her soul-flourishing and full of life.
Leita's love for the golden era of television was well-known, often reminiscing about the classic shows that brought laughter and comfort to her home. This passion for nostalgic moments was something she shared with her family during quiet evenings, instilling in them an appreciation for the simplicity of days gone by.
Above all, Leita's inherent interest and investment in the lives of those around her made her a confidante and a guiding figure for many. Her insightful advice, empathy, and unwavering support were gifts she generously bestowed upon friends and family alike. Leita’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Namaw," a name that encapsulated her endearing nature and the special role she played in their lives. Her unconditional love and the stories she shared will continue to resonate with them, passing down a wealth of wisdom and cherished memories to future generations.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Larry) Moncrief of Alexander City; son, Alan (Kris) Roberts of Callahan, FL; grandchildren, Bethany (Mike) Grogan, Ryan Roberts, and Alina Roberts; great-grandchildren, McKayla Grogan and Braxton Grogan; sisters-in-law, Betty Brown, Marie Daniel, Sarah Bradley, Evelyn Wagner, and Barbara Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Clarence L. Roberts; and sister, Alma Gregory.
