Mrs Laverne Causey Stroud Hoyle's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Laverne Causey Stroud Hoyle, 87, of Tallassee, Alabama, will be Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Ron Estes, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Russell Farm Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Laverne Causey Stroud Hoyle, a cherished matriarch and pillar of the Tallassee community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Laverne's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her faith, and her passion for life's simple pleasures. A woman of remarkable spirit and joy, Laverne lived her life fully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born to the late Aaron Burl Causey and Bessie Beatrice Causey, Laverne was one of many siblings, with a life that began and ended in the warm embrace of a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Jimmy, Harold, Billy, Bobby, Waymon, and Cecil Causey, and her sisters, Bernice Johns, Nellie Wyatt, and Margaret Lindsey. Laverne's journey through life was shared with her first husband, Jackie Stroud, and later, her second husband, Howard Hoyle, both of whom predeceased her.
Laverne's professional life was characterized by dedication and hard work, having retired from Russell Corporation after 30 years of service. In her post-retirement years, she continued to contribute to her community as a substitute teacher for the Tallassee school system, touching the lives of many young people with her wisdom and kindness.
Laverne's zest for life was evident in her many interests and hobbies. An avid hunter and angler, she found peace and excitement in the great outdoors. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing touch, and her quilts, each painstakingly made for her children and grandchildren, are treasures that will provide warmth and comfort for generations. Laverne was also a devout member of her church, where she lived out her faith in both word and deed.
Her culinary skills were legendary, with family and friends often gathering to enjoy her delicious hush puppies and red velvet cake. Laverne's fish fry events were not just meals but celebrations of togetherness. She also found great joy in assembling puzzles, a pastime that reflected her patience and attention to detail.
Above all, Laverne was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving brother, Jackie Causey devoted children, David Stroud, Anita S. Fowler, Lisa Stroud, Judy S. (Daryl) Sanford, and Gary (Kelly) Stroud. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Ben (Mallory) Stroud, Matthew (Leigh Ann) Stroud, Thomas J. (Tara) Stroud, Adam Stroud, Allen (Susan) Fowler, Anthony Fowler, Corey Fowler, Chris (Kristy) Adcox, Elana (Michael) Oliver, Haley (Shane) Burns, and Colton (Jessica) Stroud. Her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Hayden, Drew, Braiylin, Brayden, Bryson, Skylar, Parker, Dalton, and Railey, will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandmother's adventurous spirit and faith-filled heart. Laverne also leaves behind her beloved niece, Deborah (Donnie) Truett, and numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her love and kindness.
Laverne Causey Stroud Hoyle will be remembered as a loving, adventurous, and faith-filled woman, whose presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her life was a tapestry of love and service, woven with the threads of devotion to her family, her community, and her God. As we say farewell to Laverne, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
