Mr. Lamar W Hickman's Obituary
Lamar W. Hickman of Lake Martin passed peacefully from this life on November 15, 2025, after a short illness.
Lamar was raised in Dothan, AL by the late Lewis B. Hickman Sr. and Velma Hickman. He attended Troy University in 1968 and attained a graduate degree from Temple University.
He proudly served in the US Army from 1968-1980 including tour in Vietnam. He continued his career as a civilian in the Acquisition Field, first at the Communications Electronics Command at Ft. Monmouth, NJ and later at Headquarters, Army Material Command, Alexandria VA, and finally in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington DC. He retired in 2002 and moved to Lake Martin, AL, which he referred to as his slice of heaven, in 2008.
He was predeceased by his brother Lewis B. Hickman, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elsie Hickman, his beloved dogs Grace and Remington, and cats Beauregard and Hope and his brother Carty Hickman (Janna) Pelham AL.
