Kenneth Michael Jones, known as "Ken" by all who knew him, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at his home. Born in Alexander City, Alabama, on October 11, 1965, he was the son of Mr. William Howard Jones and Mrs. Willie Mae Mitchell Childers. Ken was a simple, down-to-earth kind of man who would do anything for anyone. Even when he was battling cancer, Ken never hesitated to stop what he was doing to make sure others were alright. He could often be seen mowing his grass, as well as everybody else's grass in the neighborhood. Ken was an expert junk collector and thrifter-what one person considered trash, Ken saw treasure.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and his favorite hobby was deep sea fishing where he always looked forward to the adventures that awaited him in the open water. Nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren who lovingly called him, "Pawpaw." Ken was a strong, selfless, and resilient man who thought only of encouraging and helping others. Even on the days where his pain was overwhelming, he always tried to make sure you were laughing. He truly fought the good fight and found the greatest treasure of all.
He is survived by his spouse, Marilyn Glenn; daughters, Misty Stone; Amy Glenn; grandchildren, Kaydance Stone, Kaden Stone, Ri'lee Stone, Emma Glenn; brothers, Scotty (Tammie) Jones, William Rodney (Laura) Jones; sister, Elizabeth Johns; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Jones and Willie Mae Childers; stepfather, Charley F. Childers; brother, Lynn (Linda) Jones; sister, Becky (Kenneth Wayne) Spivey; brother-in-law, Carl Johns.
Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Kenneth Michael Jones.
