Mrs Katrenia Curlee's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Katrenia Curlee, 82, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Freddie Senn will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Katrenia Curlee, a beacon of love and faith, left this world to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by the warmth of her family's affection. Her life was a testament to the power of selflessness and devotion, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Born into the loving arms of Albert Green Shockley and Effie Mae Shockley, Katrenia grew up to embody the values of hard work and dedication. Her career spanned three decades with the Russell Corporation, where she meticulously decorated jerseys for Major League Baseball and college football teams, bringing joy to sports fans across the nation.
Katrenia's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and provided comfort and strength throughout her journey on earth. She was an active member of her church community, where she shared her love for the Lord and served as a shining example of a devout Christian lady.
Her interests were as nurturing as her personality. Katrenia had a passion for planting flowers, creating a vibrant testament to her love for natural beauty. In the quiet moments, she found solace and joy in reading, immersing herself in stories and knowledge that she would often share with her beloved grandchildren.
Above all, Katrenia cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Misty C. (Dean) Works of Auburn, AL, and her son, Kenney (Angela) Curlee. Her grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Chambers and Mallory (Ben) Stroud, along with her great-grandchildren, Braiylin Stroud, Bradley Chambers, Bentley Chambers, Brayden Chambers, and Kinsley Chambers, will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She also leaves behind her brother, George (Betty) Shockley, who will remember her as the loving sister she always was.
Katrenia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby W. Curlee, and her parents, Albert Green Shockley and Effie Mae Shockley. The love and life lessons they shared have become an integral part of the rich tapestry of her family's history.
Those who knew Katrenia will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and selfless woman. She was a guiding light in her community and a pillar of strength within her family. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Katrenia Curlee's journey on earth has ended, but her story will continue to be told through the lives of her family and the countless lives she touched with her generosity and unwavering faith. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will continue to echo through generations.
