June Carlisle Nelson, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's affection. Born into the loving arms of her parents, Cole and Alva Carlisle, June's life was a testament to the power of joy and the strength of family bonds. Her journey began in the close-knit community of Hackneyville, where she blossomed into a spirited young woman, graduating from Hackneyville High School with dreams that would carry her through a lifetime of cherished moments.
June's professional life was marked by dedication and camaraderie, as she spent 22 years as a shift supervisor at Russell Corporation. Her colleagues knew her as a pillar of support, a woman who took pride in her work and inspired others to do the same. Her retirement was celebrated, but her influence remained a legacy of commitment and joy in one's vocation.
At the heart of June's world was her faith. A devout Christian, her beliefs were the compass by which she navigated, providing comfort and solace to those she encountered. Her garden was a reflection of her soul, a sanctuary where the flowers she nurtured stood as symbols of the beauty she brought into the world. June had a gift for cooking that brought people together and made ordinary days feel like celebrations. She enjoyed entertaining and decorating for the holidays.
June's home was an epicenter of hospitality, her doors always open to friends and family. Known for her quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any room, there was never a dull moment to be had. Yet, it was her kindness that left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. June's life was a symphony of joyful moments, each one shared with the family she adored beyond measure.
The matriarch of a loving family, June is survived by her daughter, Lisa Nelson Ballard and her husband, Wesley, grandchildren, Jessica Ozgowicz (Ray), Brittany Powell (Reese), Lauren Queen (Will), Brooke Nicole Ballard, Gabrielle Lexus Nelson, and Nathan Cole Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Ozgowicz, Nick, Luke, and Hank Queen, and Troy and Courtney Powell. Each grandchild and great-grandchild carry a piece of June's spirit, her legacy living on through their laughter and love.
June enjoyed spending Saturdays watching Alabama football and baking. Westerns captivated her imagination, providing a window into a world of adventure and heroism. She also had a love for animals that was pure and unwavering, a reflection of her expansive heart. But above all, the time spent with her family and grandchildren was her most precious treasure.
To describe June is to speak of love, humor, and passion. She was a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed often. Her departure leaves a void in the fabric of her family, yet her spirit remains, a guiding light of love and laughter. June Carlisle Nelson's story is not one of sorrow, but of celebration-a life beautifully lived and a soul eternally cherished.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Bobby Lynn Nelson; her sons, Bobby Leonard Nelson, Terry Lynn Nelson, and Lewis Cole Nelson; and her sisters, Dorothy Yarbrough and Sue Whaley. They were the stars in her sky, and the memories they shared will remain a comforting light to those still navigating the path of life.
