Mr. Ratliff passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on September 1, 1945, to Lloyd and Helen Ratliff, Joseph's life was marked by dedication, service, and the love he had for his family and community.
Joseph's early years were characterized by a strong sense of duty, which led him to serve in the United States Air Force in Washington D.C. His time in the service was a source of great pride and instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life. After his honorable discharge, Joseph, alongside his beloved wife, embarked on a new journey that eventually led them to settle in the warm community of Alabama.
Professionally, Joseph was known for his skilled hands and keen eye for detail. He worked diligently as an electrician for Wellborn Cabinets in Ashland and lent his expertise to Robinson Foundry in Alexander City. His colleagues respected him for his work ethic and his ability to troubleshoot even the most complex of problems. Joseph's contributions to the industry were not just through his labor but also through his involvement in various associations where he shared his knowledge and mentored many young electricians.
Beyond his professional life, Joseph was a pillar in his family. He was a loving husband, a guiding father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he took every opportunity to create lasting memories with them. Whether it was a quiet afternoon fishing or an evening sharing stories, Joseph's presence was a source of comfort and happiness.
