Funeral Service for Ms. Johnnie Dean Taylor, 57, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 3:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Johnnie Dean Taylor, a vibrant and spirited woman known for her love of life and laughter, passed away peacefully in her beloved hometown of Alexander City, Alabama on July 23, 2023. Born on March 10, 1966, in the same town, Johnnie's life was a testament to her remarkable resilience, infectious humor, and unconditional love for her family.
Johnnie's life was filled with adventure and joy, often found in the great outdoors. She had an undeniable passion for motorcycles, the thrill of the ride echoing her own exuberant spirit. Her appreciation for nature extended to a love for flowers and birds, her surroundings always teeming with life and color. But above all, Johnnie had a gift for making people laugh. Her family and friends could always count on her to bring a smile to their faces, her own laughter serving as the most beautiful melody in their lives.
A great sister and a wonderful mother, Johnnie's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her devoted fiancé, Joey Hand; her loving son, Jeremy Thornton (Dawn Shurum); and her cherished daughters, Stormie Thornton, and Shena L. Smith (Jody Simmons). Johnnie's legacy of love will continue to live on through her grandchildren: Karley N. Murphy, Tanner Penton, Tyler Tilley, Kensley Mace, Jayla Thornton, and Grayson Simmons. Her sisters, Kathy Dean-Galloway (Mickey), Susan Dean-Tilley (Eddie), and Connie Henderson, will remember her as a beacon of strength and joy.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her biological father, Daniel Clark Dean; her mother, Larue Moncrief Henderson; her father, Duck Henderson; and her brothers, Bubba Henderson and Terry Dean. Their memories were a constant source of strength and inspiration for her, and she is now at peace with them.
Johnnie was a woman of incredible spirit and humor. Her laughter was infectious, her love was unconditional, and her spirit was indomitable. She touched the lives of all those around her with her warmth and kindness. She was a lover of life, a beacon of joy, and a pillar of strength. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
