Mr. John B. Sanders' Obituary
Memorial service for Mr. John B. Sanders, 70, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Freeman will officiate.
John B. Sanders passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025 at his home in Alexander City, Alabama. Born on May 2, 1955, John's life was marked by his gentle nature, his handy skills, and the loving devotion he had for his family.
John's life was one of service and skill. He spent many years with his hands dutifully working under the hoods of countless cars at City Chevron, where he was known as an exceptional auto mechanic. His passion for automobiles extended beyond his work, as he found joy and contentment in working on cars, a hobby that was both a pastime and a testament to his mechanical genius.
Beyond his work, John was a man of many interests. He was an avid Alabama fan, cheering on his team with the same fervor he applied to every aspect of his life. His love for fishing was only matched by the pleasure he took in tending to his chickens, a pastime that brought him closer to nature and the simple joys of life.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Rebecca "Becky" Sanders; daughter, Lori (Shea) Jenkins; grandchildren, Khrystal (Zack) Linholm, Megan (Eddie) Brown, and William Bishop, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Adeline Rose Linholm, Eli Linholm, Knight Linholm, Amelia Linholm, Zoey Bishop, James Brown, and Emma Brown; sisters, Patricia Sanders Sides and Mary Sanders (Jimmy) Luster; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William B. Sanders; mother, Ettie Taylor Sanders; brothers, Morgan Sanders, Roy Sanders, and James Sanders; and his son-in-law and the father of his grandchildren, William Bishop, Sr.
Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of John B. Sanders.
