John Robert Mixon's Obituary
Memorial Service for Mr. John Robert Mixon, 57, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Jeff Whitfield, Jessica Boyd, and Joel Flournoy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
John passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his residence. He was born on August 6, 1965, in Dadeville, Alabama to Edward Bruce Mixon and Mary Frances Branch Mixon. He was an excellent carpenter and was always working on one project or another. He was a music lover and enjoyed a great comedian. John made his home a haven for all stray dogs and treated them all as his own. Family was very important to him, and he always enjoyed the time they spent together.
He is survived by his sisters, Susie Whitfield (Sylane) of Pell City, Mary Jones of Huntsville, sister, Sheila Watts of Wilsonville, and Marie Arighi of Huntsville; brother, James Michael Mixon (Tammy) of Dadeville; and he was referred to as “the cool uncle” to numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Patricia Ann Strickland; brothers, Cortez Mixon and Arnold Joel Mixon.
