Mr. John Thomas "Tom" McCoy's Obituary
A private memorial service for Mr. John Thomas “Tom" McCoy, 86, of Alexander City, will be held at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Minister Chris Tidwell, Rev. Bennie Lee Yates, and Rev. Will Baker will officiate. Mr. McCoy passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Russell Medical. He was born on July 6, 1935 in Dadeville, Alabama to Thomas Claude McCoy and Alice Gray McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Stark McCoy of Alexander City; daughter, Lisa Flournoy (Marvin) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Jason Flournoy (Jeana) and Rachel Flournoy both of Alexander City; and great-grandchild, Mara Flournoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, JoAnn Holley and Frances Porter. He worked at Russell Corporation for 42 years and retired as a supervisor in 1997. He served as a sergeant in National Guard for 24 years. He was a scout master for the Russell Corporation boy scout troop 63. He loved fishing, classic cars, Alabama football, and cooking, with chicken and dumplings being his specialty. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Pa-Pa to his grandchildren and great grandchild.
