John Davis "JD" Fuller, a man known for his quick wit, skilled hands, and boundless love, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 7, 1944, JD's life was marked by joy, laughter, and the love of a close-knit family. He was a beacon of light and a source of endless stories that will continue to bring smiles to the faces of all who knew him.
JD was a cherished husband to his wife, Opal Mae Fuller, of Alexander City, Alabama. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Together, they raised a son, David "Todd" Fuller, who inherited his father's humor and kind spirit. JD was also a doting grandfather to Gavon and Gracie Fuller, who will miss their "Pappy's" playful teasing and bear hugs. The joy in his eyes was unmistakable when he was with his great-grandchildren, Apollo Parker Fuller and Delilah Mae Fuller, whose early memories of their great-grandfather's laughter will echo through the generations.
Before his peaceful passing, JD was preceded in death by an extensive lineage of Fullers who had laid the foundation for the family's strong bonds and traditions. JD was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Deanna Tara Fuller. His parents, Jessie James Fuller and Nancy Elizabeth Fuller, along with his siblings, Ida Denham, Josie Williams, Edna Jones, Ruth Adelle Ransom, Margie Hall, Nell Green, Rufus Fuller, Albert Fuller, Robert Fuller, Jessie Fuller, and Clinton Fuller, had each left an indelible mark on JD's heart. Their memories and stories, often retold by JD with a unique blend of reverence and humor, will remain a cherished part of the Fuller legacy.
JD was a man of many talents, a handyman who could fix anything that life threw his way. His loving nature extended beyond his family to friends and strangers alike, always ready to lend a hand or a joke to lighten the load. His laughter was contagious, and his presence was a comfort to those around him. JD was the embodiment of a life well-lived, filled with moments of joy, hard work, and the warmth of a loving family.
His absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but the memories he leaves behind will be treasured forever. JD's story does not end with his passing but continues in the lives he touched, the family he adored, and the countless moments of happiness he created. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple yet profound impact of a life dedicated to bringing joy to others.
As we bid farewell to JD, we celebrate a life that was full and vibrant, a life that was a gift to us all. We will remember him for his jokes that never grew old, his hands that were never too busy to help, and his heart that was always open. JD's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of humor, love, and kindness, a tapestry that will continue to provide comfort and inspiration to all who were woven into it.
We will miss JD dearly, but we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in every chuckle shared, every tool turned, and every embrace given. JD Fuller was, and always will be, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His memory will be a guiding light, reminding us to live fully, laugh often, and love without limits. Rest in peace, JD. Your story lives on.
