Funeral service for Mr. John Robert Browning, 79, of Kellyton, will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Kenneth Garner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Browning passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on September 10, 1936 in New Site, Alabama to Ruben Oneal Browning and Edith Foshee Browning. He attended Campground United Methodist Church. Mr. Browning loved listening to gospel music, especially The Gaither’s. He was known as a “piddler” by his family because he loved being outdoors and keeping busy. During his active years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Jane Stringer Browning of Kellyton; daughters, Mary Kathleen Browning of Nacogdoches, TX, Wendy Leigh Garrett (Glenn Babcock), of Huson, MT, Rachel Leanne Garner (Kenneth ), of Wetumpka; sister, Norma Cheatham; brothers, Larry Browning (Becky), James Browning (Donna); six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3918 Montclair Road, Birmingham, Al, 35209.
