Joanne Adams' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Joanne Adams, 82, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the River of Life Worship Center. Pastor Mike Waldrop, will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at River of Life Worship Center.
Joanne passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Russell Medical. She was born on June 5, 1941 in Elmore County to Sanders Herron Pearce and Alice Merle Ward Pearce. She was an active member of River of Life Worship Center.
Joanne was a loyal and loving friend and a natural caregiver. She was the heart of her family and brought laughter and life to anyone lucky enough to know her. Her son Kevin was her pride and joy, and she treasured every minute she shared with him until his passing in 2020. She took great care of her husband Adrian, who suffered from numerous health problems, allowing him to live a long life full of love with her. She found her calling in nursing and devoted forty years of her life to Russell Medical Center, where she was loved and highly respected by coworkers and patients alike. She treasured her time spent working at the hospital and considered the Russell Medical staff to be a part of her family. Joanne saved thousands of lives during her nursing career, but she was most proud of the souls she saved by sharing her love for Jesus. She loved worshipping and serving with her church family at River of Life Worship Center. She appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and loved to spend her time marveling God's creation. Although Joanne's final year was difficult, and she suffered many medical setbacks, she was blessed to be loved and supported by her devoted caregivers: Angela Smith, Angela Embry, Rachel Kendrick, and Christy Stone.
Joanne is survived by siblings, Sybil (Avery) McAlister, Kaye (Tom) Davis, Lewey G. (Shirley) Pearce; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Adrian Adams; son, Kevin Adrian Adams; parents Sanders and Alice Pearce; brothers, Jerry Pearce and Donald Pearce.
